OMG! OMG! OMG! I am so exited!! Can you guess why??!!!! I just got my media iPad!!!!!!!!! In fact, I am actually using it at this very moment to write this blog!! I am so thankful to have this iPad, and I know it will really help me in media. One way that iPads will make media easier is that I will not have to use the school Mac's as much, and I can take my iPad with me wherever I go. It'll also make writing blogs easier, because of the convenience. I think it will also make Media (at least for me) more organized because I have a Calendar App that I can easily access and also a Notepad, where I can write everything down, and I know it's all in one place. I'm so excited and thankful to have a Media iPad, and I know it will help me in Media!

As you know, Mongoose on Kauai is the First Quarter News Story Topic for Sierra and I. I'm not going to lie and say that we are doing a wonderful job, and we are right on track, because that wouldn't be  completely honest. There are a few things that we need to do to catch up to be right on track, and I think that if we work really hard we will be able to catch up. Right now though, I'm just going to focus on what needs to be done and get it done!!

One thing that we need to do is finish transcribing!! I'm actually REALLY embarrassed that we are not finished yet, because there is no reason or excuse why they aren't done. The good news is that we only have a tiny bit more to transcribe, which is way better than having a lot of words that need to be transcribed. Also, I am a really fast typer (which is probably because my old school started teaching kids how to type WITHOUT looking at the letters in 2nd grade) so I can probably finish transcribing in the first 15 minutes or so of class. So, I'm going to work really hard to finish transcribing!!

When transcribing is done, we still have something else to do, and that something just happens to be... writing scripts. And the scripts happen to be due on... this Friday. Oh boy, we're in a serious time crunch... I'm also kind of intimidated about writing the scripts. I mean, everyone in media that I've talked to has said that writing the scripts is really hard, and since this is due on Friday, I just don't know how we'll finish this on time. Maybe I'm over thinking this. I mean, looking on the bright side I do have a partner that has experience writing scripts, and there is always Google Docs, that both Sierra and I can go on to work on the scripts whenever we want, and also, by figuring out our 5 key points I'm sure that it will be way easier (and organized) to write scripts. Maybe I'll end up really liking writing scripts and it will come really easy to me. I hope. Anyways, whether I like writing scripts or not and whether it does or does not come easy to me, I'm going to put in all my effort to finish on time, and not waste a single second of class!

Finally, the last reason that I think our project is falling behind a little is because I stress too much and over think. I honestly think that one of the reasons that more isn't done is because I spend so much time thinking up a plan, that I spend too little time actually working on our project. I mean, don't get me wrong, I love to have a plan to follow, but spending all your time planning instead of actually doing is definitely not good. I am going to work on spending all my time wisely, so that I can get the important stuff done!

So, there you have it, my First Quarter Project Update. I know things aren't looking the best right now, but I'm really going to try and focus and be productive with the time given, and even spend extra time, like after school and at home to finish up important steps that will make up our First Quarter Project. My goals are to finish transcribing within the first 20 minutes of class, and then move on to writing the scripts, which I believe will be possible to get done by Friday, if we work really hard. I still want my video to be not just good, but great, and I know it can be!

So, everyone knows about Skype, right? The app that you can go on to video chat with others, whether it's from your phone, ipod, ipad, or computer... it's pretty cool. Well, there just so happens to be another app kind of like Skype that you may not have heard of, and that app is, you guessed it... Tango!

Tango is basically like Skype, but I think it has really cool extra features and stuff. One thing that's really nice about Tango is that the phone book of your phone is synchronized with the application once you use your moblie phone number to register. Another thing that  I like about Tango is it has funny characters that you can press and the person you are video chatting with can see them. I also think it's easier and faster to set up than Skype.

So next time you find yourself browsing the app store, check out Tango. It's free, easy, and fast and a good way to video chat with others!
