Hey guys! I'm so nervous because tomorrow is the official first day of STN!!!! Aahhh! But let me tell you about today. Today we packed up all our stuff and moved out of our houses an into the hotel. Then, we went to the Sonic, and then the mall!!  Marlena and I chose to be cool kids and go to Ross and TJ-Maxx instead of pricy stores like Forever 21, and Hollister, and Abercrombie and I'm really glad we did! I found super cute shirts for prices that I could actually afford. I mean, I got a $45 pair of Roxy brand shorts for just $12!!! I was pretty excited :) Then, after the mall we headed back for the room and quickly got ready for a dinner at Olive Garden and meeting our pen pals at Wonder Works. Dinner was good, but they took a very long time to serve, so unfortunately, we were late to Wonderworks. But it still super fun! I got to meet my pen pal Amanda, and play laser tag! Oh yeah! Well I'm super tired so I'm gonna try and get a good night rest! After all, STN starts tomorrow!!!

So today marks officially one week of our STN trip, and another great day! Today we headed back to Universal Studios. We started out by going on a minion ride, followed by one of my favorites called The Mummy. We then went on a super cool ride called Hollywood Rip Ride Rollarcoater. You start up by picking the song you want to listen to on the ride (I chose "Glamerous" by Fergie) and then you go straight up, up, up, and then finally go really fast down and on this crazy ride. It was awesome!! We had a snack and went on a Men in Black ride where you have to shoot aliens to collect points. I went with Marlena and Mr. M, and believe it or not (I couldn't believe it!), I won both of them with a total of 83,100 points! We also went on an ET ride, a Simpson ride, and saw the Animal Show, which was super cute and funny! However, my favorite part of the day was when we went back to Islands of Adventure and went on this awesome water ride. Im pretty sure I went like 5 or 6 times and each time was a blast. Mr. M and Micah and a few others paid 25 cents to squirt water at random people right before their ride was over - it was hilarious! Then, we ate dinner at Panda Express and on the way home, Marlena, Leanna, Kai, and I had a dance party in the car! We were laughing so hard! Now at home, we're getting ready to leave the house and move to a hotel :( I'm gonna miss this house! But anyways, I should probably go, but check back later for more blogs! Bye!!

Hey guys! Today is an earlier night, so I get to write my blog and go to bed a little bit earlier! Today, we went to Universal Studios. I loved it! We started out with a tour of some of the rides and how they worked. The first ride we went on was The Adventures of Spider-Man. We went on it twice- once with the lights on and no 3D glasses (the behind the scenes way), and once with the lights off and 3D glasses on (the normal way). The reason we did this is so we could see how the ride functions. It was crazy because the first time, the ride wasn't very fun because we knew what was happening and that the stimulator only moved a few inches up or down, but the second time, it felt like we were falling or flying hundreds of feet! So we know that the graphics make a huge effect on the awesomeness of the ride! Next, we went the Hulk Ride, which was also super fun. It turned us upside down a total of 7 times!! After that, we headed to Jurrasic Park and rode on this awesome water ride with a huge drop at the end. We also went to the Harry Potter island, where we went on another stimulator and super fast rollar coaster. Oh, and we tried butter beer, Mr. M's favorite drink! It was good, but honestly, I would prefer a Starbucks or Jamba Juice to it. We ate lunch at Comic Strip Cafe, and then headed to the Doctor Suess Land! After that, Lindsey, Marlena, Brooke, and I headed to the forbidden island to get, guess what... hena tattoos!! It took quite a while for a of us to be done, and most of the group actually left the park before us. We headed home, and went to Chick-fill-ay for dinner. It was gooooood! So yeah, that was my day in a nutshell. In really excited because tomorrow we get to go to Universal again!! Well, thanks for reading! Bye!

What's up guys? Today, our fifth day of the STN Trip, we went to another part of Disneyworld - the Hollywood Studios! In a guided session, we learned all about science and how it plays a part in the making of Dinsey - specifically about gravity, kinetic and potential energy, and force. We got to go on the Tower of Terror and this rock and roll rollarcoaster, and both were super awesome! I think they were my favorite two rollarcoasters of the trip so far! After riding a few more rollarcoasters, we went back to the Epcot Center to see John Allen, another Hawaii Media teacher, propose to his girlfriend. We acted like we were taking a group picture and then when his girlfriend came the group split apart so that she could see the sign that said in Dinsey handwriting "Will you marry me?" It was so adorable! After that we went on some more rides, and for dinner guess what I got? A huge, ginormous turkey leg! It was pretty awesome! We also went to the Golden Corral, but I just got a salad and some desert. We did yoga when we home, and now I'm about to go to bed! But thanks for reading and check back tomorrow!

Bonjour! Hola! Ni hao! Konnichiwa! Hallo! Hey everyone!! Wondering why I'm talking in all these different languages? Well today, I got to travel all over the world! That's right! We're talkin' France, Norway, Japan, Germany, Mexico, and so many others! It was awesome, and it was just one part of my day at the Epcot Center! Let me tell you all about it! So today we woke up super early, and though it was painful, it was worth it! When we first got to the Epcot Center, we met up with our guide, Wendy, who gave us a really awesome tour of the center before it even opened. We learned about the four main factors that impact technological development and acceptece which are: government, social, economic, and technology. My favorite ride on the tour was probably the first one that we went on where we got to design our own car and go on a rollercoaster "driving" it, although the time machine ride was pretty cool as well because we got to see technology evolve from caveman times all the way to possible evolutions of the future! After the tour, we walked through all the countries, and like I said earleir, there were a lot of them! It was so amazing because all of the countries looked so real! About half of the group, myself included, ended up eating in China. After touring the contries and walking around for some time, we headed down to Animal Kingdom. At first, I wasn't very excited to go because I thought it would just be like a boring zoo that smelled bad, but it was actually completely different than I thought! The first thing we went to was this 3D film about bugs. It was really cool (and just a little bit gross) because when the bug sprayed "acid", it flew all over us and our bags, and when the big farted, they actually made it so that the whole room smelled bad! After that, we went on this water rollercoaster. Fortunately for me, I didn't get that wet , but Lindsey and Brandon got soaked! My favorite ride though was called, oh gosh, I can't even remember what it's called, but I do know that it is awesome!! You going up the mountain and go forward like a normal rollercoaster, but then you get to point where the track breaks and you go backwards. In the dark. Super fast. Down a straight drop. Oh yeah, it was awesome! I think I went like 4 times in a row! Then we took a picture with Goofy and Pluto, and by that time it was already pretty late and everyone's heels were super sore. Aunty Linda tracked how many steps we took and it was something like 10 miles worth! We went to Wendy's for dinner, and then came back to the house, where me, Brooke, and Halle did some yoga! After about 10 minutes worth, all our heel pain went away and we felt great! So guys, yoga really does work! Hehe! But anyways, I'm gonna get some rest because tomorrow is yet another busy day! Bye!

Hey everyone! So yet another day of the STN Trip has gone by, and I have to say, I think that this was the best day so far! We left the house at about 9ish this morning and headed down to WKMG- a local news station for Orlando. We got to take a special on depth tour which was awesome!! I mean, we got to see their all new on- the-go van, the editing and production room, their storage room, green screen filming room, and my favorite- where they film the news!! You know the weatherman that you see on TV? Well, we got to become a weather person too, and see ourselves on the TV! Then, we got to watch an actual taping of the news where the anchor and weatherman came in and were being filmed, and let me just say: they are GOOD! I mean like, they've got it down! The anchor was able to add lib so well and the weather guy didn't even have a script; he comes up with what to say as he's talking! It was pretty cool! Next we went to the university called Full Sail, which specializes in all types of media, whether it's gaming, or filming, or recording, digital design, or programming, or animation, or pretty much any other media outlet you can think of! It was really

cool to see the campus and get a glimpse of what types of colleges are out there! After that, we headed to the Amway Center, where we were yesterday, to watch the basketball game between the Olando Magics and the Washington, D.C. Wizards. It was unlike anything I've been to before! I mean, the most crowded place I've been would probably Vidhina Stadium on the Fourth of July, and so to see that gonormous stadium almost filled up with people was super sick! The game itself was pretty good- it definitely kept you on your toes! In the beginning, Orlando was losing pretty bad (the score was like 13 to 27) but then they made a comeback and were in the lead for quite some time. Near the end, the opposing team started catching up, and the game ended in a tie so they played 5 more minutes, where Orlando unfortunately did not win, but it was pretty close (I think the score was like 101 to 105). It was kinda funny though there was only like 1 minute left and everyone knew there was no way that the Orlando team could win, so a bunch of people just got up and left, right then and there. So much for the "it's just a game, be happy for whoever wins" mentality! But anyways, I thought it was so cool because all though out the show they were showing shots of the audience, and CKTV was in lot of them! I was in 3 of the shots, and when I saw myself on the huge screen that everyone else could see, I would just smile real big and wave! It was so exciting! Well, I better go to bed because tomorrow we have to wake up at 5:30 :( I am not looking forward to that!! But anyways, thanks for reading!

Hey everyone! Today is coming to a close, and I'm gonna tell you all about it! Halle and I were woken up with Taylynn and Justice coming into our room, telling us that we slept in way to late, and that all the other people were already eating breakfast downstairs. I literally jumped out of bed and screamed "WHAT!!!!" and Halle and I rushed to quickly get ourselves presentable (I look pretty scary when I first wake up), only to then find out that we didn't need to be downstairs for another hour!It was quite the scare, although I was a little upset that we didn't get to sleep longer. While breakfast was cooking, all the media students came over and we all played air hockey and pool in the game room. I was super proud of myself for beating Ben my first try. We had a great breakfast: eggs, sausage, bacon, toast, and fruits, to prepare us for the day. Unfortunately, we weren't able to go shopping (or to Downtown Disney) today, which I was kind of bummed about, but we still got to go Amway Center. Amyway Center is really cool, and it's HUGE! On the outside it just looks like a normal building or hotel or something, but when you get inside its like ginormous! The basketball court seats alone can hold up to 20,000 people! We got to go through the whole building, where we saw lots of artwork, and basketball statistics, and the VIP room to watch the game, and the players locker room (but we didn't get to go inside of it), and other interesting stuff. Our tour guide said that a ticket to sit in the very front is usually $500 to more than $1000! We are super lucky though because tomorrow we are going back to watch the game, and we have seats in the front with an awesome view of the game! It's going to be amazing! So anyways, that was the Amway Center in a nutshell. When we came back home, all us media students hung out in the game room for a while, and then we played Spoons, which was super fun! I almost won, but lost first place to Lindsey. Dinner was great, and then we showered off. Now I'm in Justice and Taylynn's room for a midnight snack :) thanks for reading!!

Hey guys! So day one of the 2014 STN Trip is officially coming to a close, and let me tell you, it has been a pretty action packed day!! We arrived in California this morning around 5ish, and then caught another four hour flight from LA to Florida! It seemed like forever, but I was able

to get some homework done, so that's good. When we got off the plane it was already around4pm! After that, we picked up our vans and headed to our vacation houses, which are super, super nice! Me and Halle are sharing a room and bathroom, and she's awesome! We got situated in our rooms, and then we headed down to the Golden Corral for our first dinner in Florida. If you've never seen the commercials for it before, the Golden Corral is a buffet restaurant with over 125 different food dishes. I had the best time picking out what I wanted, and eating with media friends! We then headed down to Target to get some basic supplies, and then headed back home. I'm so tired but can't wait til tomorrow! Thanks for reading and check back tomorrow for another post about the trip 😄

Yayayayayayayayayaya!!! Guess what guys: I'm very pleased to announce that I have turned in my PSA, and met the deadline! It was kinda rough, and I was really discouraged at one point, but I found a way to get it done! However I do have to say, it turned out very different from the way I first envisioned it in my head. But I think the way that it turned out is good, and gets the message across. The people that watched it in the class said it was good, so that's a good sign, right? Hopefully Mr. M likes it too, because even though he watched it, I couldn't really tell whether he liked it or not. Tomorrow I'll try and post it on my blog, and you can comment what you liked and didn't like about it too!

Hey guys! So this last Sunday, we had yet another STN Practice. However, it was unlike any STN practice before. How so, you ask? Well, here's a hint: while other practices have lasted 2 hours (at least for my competition), and 6 hours at the most, our practice on Sunday lasted for a whopping 16 hours! Yep! That's right! This practice started at 7:00am and didn't finish til 11:00pm. I was exhausted! But anyways, the reason for that very long, long practice was because we were practicing for the Sweet 16, which if you didn't infer already, is a competition in which we have 16 hours to produce a video about a certain topic. I'll tell you all about the practice in the next few paragraphs.

So, when we got to school at 7:00, we learned that our topic was the word success. So basically, we had to get 10 minutes worth of spot features, PSA's, and anchoring all about that one word on 16 hours. Right away all the people that had to do spot features, including me, started brainstorming ideas on what a possible story that we could get about that word could be. Javelynn (who was my awesome partner) and I decided to do a story on the Kalaheo Elemetnary School, and it's success.

To be honest, I was actually really nervous about having to do a spot feaure for the Sweet 16 because I'm used to having a whole quarter (about 2 1/2 months) to construct a story, and I wasn't sure if Javalynn and I would be able to whip one up in just a few hours. But, we actually were able to get lots of great footage and interviews, when we got back to the school I think it was only like 12:30ish, so we were doing pretty well on time. However, when we were about half way through editing, Final Cut Pro quitted unexpectedly, and since we hasn't saved our project, we had to start editing the whole thing from scratch again! And Javalynn actually had to do a lot of the editing because I was an anchor along with Leanna, and we had to come up with the scripts for that and get ready to film them, which I'll get to in a second.

I really liked anchoring for the Sweet 16, and I really liked working with Leanna. I think she does a really great job and sounds very professional. It was nice to hear from Mr. Gima that we sounded natural and clever. After we filmed all the anchoring shots, I worked on the opening for the Sweet 16, and then helped to make the final touches on our Drama Spot Feature, which I thought actually turned out pretty well, especially in the short amount of time we had. But unfortunately, we didn't end up using it in the final story, and only because Leanna and I forgot to do an anchoring introduction for that story.

But overall, I was happy with the final product! I think Mr. M was too, which is always good. Of course, we have lots of room to improve upon, but I think that if we work really hard, we may even have a chance of placing (hopefully!)
